One person's trash is another's treasure.

The pieces in this collection have been made using mainly vintage and recycled items. We love searching Charity shops, vintage fairs, jumble sales and car boot fairs for old and discarded materials and enjoy turning each piece we find into something with a new life. The sourcing of these materials is a crucial part of the design process and much of our inspiration comes from these found items.

When making the textile brooches we mostly work with salvaged materials. These materials have a history of their own and there is a kind of affection in the re-use and re-purposing of items that were once treasured possessions.

The background fabric has been sourced from a local Oxfam shop and each brooch has been edged with blanket stitch in beautiful cotton thread. This thread has been made in a Derbyshire Textile Mill located in the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site.

Old buttons, vintage charms, broken jewellery, antique lace, old watch parts and hand dyed cotton tape are all used to make the colourful and attractive brooch front. We do add a few Swarovski crystals to add a little sparkle.
