We have been to one of our favourite small Antique shops today. It is always full of interesting and unusual items and I like to look out for things that I can use for displaying my jewellery.

The shop is very small, just the two front rooms of this cottage with the owners living at the back. The first thing I noticed was a piece of wood with a large screw and another piece with holes all along it, the owner had no idea what it had been part of but I liked the shape so bought it.

It is quite large and possible part of something used on a farm. The second thing I bought was a large bobbin, much larger than the ones I used for my jewellery organisers. I love the colour and think I may use it to display bracelets.

The last thing I bought was just because I liked it. It is a pin but quite large. The lady in the shop thought it had probably been used by dress makers to help get a hem straight. You can see some measurements on it and she thought that dressmakers chalk would have been held by the coiled part.

There were plenty of other things that I would have liked to have bought but I will have to wait for another visit. I do like to look out for old and unusual pieces to display my work on such as this old wooden item found in a charity shop. I believe this is something to do with printing.
